The hardest thing in life is that school doesn't teach you the most important skills in life, especially leadership and interpersonal skills. Sure, you learn a lot in school, but all the information is academic. Simply knowing and memorizing information is not going to help you in the long run. What we learn at school doesn't teach you steps to become a better leader or improve your character. The reason I bring up this issue is that I currently need to spend a lot of time figuring out how to become a better leader and role model. Before being the vice captain for Science Olympiad, I never thought about the fact that I lacked essential skills. The hardest challenges in my current life aren't really academic ones. In fact, they are ones related to extracurriculars. Although I genuinely enjoy my job as a vice captain, it can be really frustrating to figure out everything by yourself regarding improving the team, generating team spirit, etc. What is discouraging is that not...
